27.06.2026 - In proceedings against the Romanian National Authority for Property Restitution (ANRP), the court awarded approximately EUR 300.000 in damages for the delayed payment of compensation granted under Law No. 165/2013, notwithstanding the Government Emergency Ordinances postponing such payments. The central legal issue concerned the limits of Convention-compliant interpretation and the direct disapplication of conflicting domestic legislation where such interpretation would have been contra legem. The damages were ultimately awarded directly under the European Convention on Human Rights.
19.12.2025 - Before the Bucharest Court of Appeal, we secured the voidness of the judgment that had upheld the lawfulness of the General Mayor of Bucharest’s refusal to submit the planning documentation to the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest for deliberation and approval of a Zonal Urban Plan concerning the proposed development of a hotel in the Magheru Boulevard–Calea Dorobanților area. The case has been remitted to the first-instance court for retrial, where we expect to obtain a favourable judgment.
